Subdivision A: General

701 A Poem entitled: 'Rio' Adult
 
No longer than 250 words. All work should be on A4 sheet with name on the back of the paper.
 
702 Any piece of creative writing entitiled: 'Carnival Excess' Adult
 
No longer than 250 words. All work should be on A4 sheet with name on the back of the paper.
 
703 A Tanka entitled: 'The Parade' Adult
 
A Tanka is a Japanese un-rhyming poem consisting of 31 syllables in 5 lines, with 5 syllables in the first and third lines and 7 in the others i.e. 5,7,5,7,7
 
704 A 50 word piece of poetry or prose entitled 'The Carnival Costume' Adult
705 NOVICE CLASS: Any piece of creative writing inspired by this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Life will show you masks that are worth all your carnivals” Adult
 
A Novice is any entrant who has not previously entered or won a prize in the Adult Division G section
